Question
My hubby tells me that marriage is the worst thing in life why dose he say that?
Answer
He must be being ironic or sarcastic or in some wise kidding. Otherwise, he is mentally ill to speak to you so. Does this take you by surprise? Or have the signs of unhappiness been there?brbrHe sounds depressed and also spoiled. If life with you is so bad, worse than poverty, or a terrible illness, or the loss of a child, or war, or almost a million other things, then he is colossally immature.brbrHe is lashing out at you bc he can. Bc you wont leave him, or lash back, or fire him. He must feel powerless in his life, and like a school yard bully, he takes it out on you. You must stand up for yourself in as dignified a way as possible. Refuse to accept the truth of his sweeping generality, and tell him that the beauty of marriage is that you can take out of it as much and more as you put into it. It is like growing a garden no seed, no water, no growth. But if there is seed, water, food for the seed, warming sunlight and the right nurturing, there can be much growth and rebirth. Ask him Is he the farmer or the blight? The fertilizer or the plague?brbrIt takes two to make a marriage work. With that attitude, it is a wonder you are still there to hear him say that garbage.brbrGood luck, dearheart. I will pray for your happiness. Oh, and Amy, I have noticed lately that there have been more rude types answering in mean, snippy short burst personal comments. Just ignore them or report them if they hurt your feelings. You dont come here to get your feelings hurt. If someone gets kicks doing that, report them.
