Why is your religion any more legitimate or believable than another?
Yes. I know this question belongs in the RampS section. Ive already asked it there. But I think that the people in the philosophy section tend to be more objective and creative, so I was interested to see how these answers might vary.

because the basic tenets of all religions are based on dogmatism and the heads of religions preach that only the followers of their religion only go to heaven or get salvation.brthis applies in the case of political ideologies also.brall this happens because , everybody thinks that he is right and others are wrong.

Why is there life on earth?
If you believe in the Big Bang theory, then why is there life on earth? I mean religious people obviously believe God created the earth and humans are here in order to get to heaven, but without religion, then what is the point of life?

Good question. Religion teaches you morals and distinguishes between whats right from wrong, whats allowed from disallowed, whats legal from illegal. Without religion we have a world which teaches that hoarding money and material things, is the point of our existence. Capitalism is the aim. People bang on about how religion is the root of all wars, numerous deaths etc. but they dont stop to think how many people are dying of poverty and hunger due to Capitalism and Globalisation.
